Then Hope and skipper Stockinger took charge adding 87 for the second wicket, with Hope hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes in his 40 and Stockinger 7 fours and one six before being third out for 60 with the score on 124. Charles and Mendis continued the attack, Charles making his best score for the club of 45, while Mendis top-scored with 66 including 3 sixes and 7 fours. Grace's ended up with 259-6.
Some typically mean bowling by Shofiq and Akhter all but put the game out of reach for Washington.
